General Satellite Corporation is a Russian research and production company, presenting at domestic and international market the hi-tech radio-electronic equipment, which specifications meet the highest standards. Reliability and professionalism through many years of successful activity enabled the company to take the leading place in telecommunications business community of Russia.
| 1991 | The General Satellite Corporation is founded. The company starts working under the brand “A & A”, with its main focus on satellite TV system sales and mounting. |
| 1994 | Contracts for the exclusive sale of equipment signed with Pace Micro Technology (UK) and Humax (S.Korea). The company becomes one of the main suppliers of equipment for satellite, cable and terrestrial TV, and the only supplier of large-diameter dishes on the Russian market. The supply of various electronics by leading manufacturers organized to cover the requirements of TV companies: LNBs, receivers and controllers with the function of satellite autotracking on inclined orbit. |
| 1995 | Provision of cable network engineering projects with equipment and TV cable. |
| 1995–1997 | Active participation in the first Russian satellite broadcast project “NTV-Plus”. The General Satellite Corporation has become the main distributor of equipment for the channel’s reception. |
| 1999 | An engineering division of the corporation is established. Its main line of activity is the design and engineering of weak-current networks, video surveillance systems, cable TV networks, fire alarm systems, computer networks, etc. |
| 2001 | The research and production division of the Corporation is established. |
| 2002 | Foreign affiliates of the Corporation are opened in 6 European countries: Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, the Czech Republic and Turkey. The General Satellite Corporation now covers the largest territory of any satellite equipment distributor in the world. |
| 2003 | The FTA receiver and software are developed. Production is begun at the plant of one of China’s most famous STB producers. |
| 2003 | A strategic decision is made to change the Corporation’s main direction and to concentrate on the development of technology and digital equipment production. |
| 2004 | A representative office of the Corporation is opened in the city of Shēnzhèn, China. Its area of responsibility includes: selection of hardware components, placement of orders for manufacturing parts and receiver assembling, as well as the control of production at all stages. |
| 2005 February | The Corporation’s innovations are recognized for the first time at the seventh International CSTB Exhibition, held in Moscow, where the digital receiver GS FTA-7001S tops the category “For the best domestic (Russia, CIS and Baltic countries) innovation in the area of distributive and subscribers’ equipment for satellite and cable TV”. |
| 2005 November | the receiver GS TE-7010 top among budget-priced air receivers as a result of tests performed by the German magazine “Digital Fernsehen”; |
| 2005 | A new Russian satellite TV project “Tricolor TV” is started with the technical participation from the Corporation. This project should be considered one of the most successful satellite TV projects in the world – within the first 3.5 years of broadcasting it attracted more than 5 million subscribers, and the operator, JSC “NSC”,becomes the commercial TV operator in Russia with the largest number of subscribers. |
| 2006 | The Corporation accepted into the international organization AEPOC (European Association for the Protection of Encrypted Works and Services) as a company which has achieved significant successes in the area of digital STB development. |
| 2007 | The digital satellite receiver GS VA-7200 is the winner in the category “The best innovation” at the International CSTB Exhibition-2007. |
| 2007 | Taking into account the pace of satellite TV development in Russia and the fast approaching switch of air broadcasting to a digital format a decision was taken to establish a modern high-automated digital production factory in Gousev, a town in the Kaliningrad Region, Russia. At the same time the Corporation, together with its partners, begins construction of a new plant in the same town for the production of satellite dishes and metal and plastic polymeric wares for radio electronic equipment. |
| 2008 | A long-term program is developed for the investment project “Territory of Scientific and Technological Development − Technopolis Gousev”. The General Satellite Corporation Association of Radio Electronic Equipment Producers and Traders is formed by companies located at the Technopolis. |

A set of modern, highly automated production facilities is founded in the town of Gousev. The plant is capable of covering the demand for digital set-top boxes of consumers in both the Russian Federation, as well as in the other European States. Launch of the first digital satellite 3D - broadcasting in Russia and Eastern Europe. Russian President D. Medvedev got acquainted with the Corporation's developments in the field of 3D - broadcasting at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The new Technopolis enterprises (Gusev, Kaliningrad reg.) started operating: The White Key House-Building Factory Ltd. (modular technology house construction) and The First Cardboard Factory Ltd. (corrugated packaging production). Development and production of Russia's first chip for digital television in collaboration with RC Module. June 18, 2011, the General Satellite Corporation celebrated its 20th anniversary. |
