General Satellite Corporation Launches Receiver with MPEG4 SupportThe General Satellite Corporation has launched a new receiver supporting the progressive digital terrestrial TV format MPEG4. GS ТЕ-8310 MPEG4 is a digital terrestrial receiver for the reception of free-to-air and coded TV and Radio channels of standard definition. MPEG4 provides advanced algorithm image compression, and a lowered speed of data transmission for broadcasting TV or radio programs, thus allowing it to increase the number of programs in a digital terrestrial broadcasting channel’s range: from 6 TV channels, characteristic of MPEG 2, to 10 channels in MPEG 4.
