CSTB Chronicle: Best Satellite Receiver Chosen

  General Satellite Corporation satellite receiver has been chosen number one “For high innovative quality”.

  The competition was held within the framework of International Exhibition CSTB-2007 (cable and satellite TV, IPTV, mobile TV and broadband access), which took place in Moscow at the Crocus Expo exhibition hall from Feb.5 to Feb.8, 2007.

  The digital satellite terminal by General Satellite was awarded the first prize at the competition among home equipment for TV signal reception.

  The GS VA-7200 digital satellite receiver is certified by the French company VIACCESS (France Telecom unit) and recommended officially for watching “NTV-Plus” channels.

  The VA-7200 receiver provides access to free-to-air channels as well as to paid satellite channels by different providers, secured by VIACCESS’s coding system for the users of VIACCESS smart cards.

  The receiver supports device control protocols DiSEqC 1.0/1.1/1.2/ USALS, which make switch and positioner serial connection possible. Up to 16 aerials can be connected as well as the DiSEqC/USALS positioner and switch. VA-7200 is supplied with digital audio output (S/PDIF) and operates with NTV-Plus’s full electronic weekly program guide detailed descriptions of the telecasts for all the broadcasting areas. It is also supplied with a teletext decoder and can hold up to 5000 tele- and radio channels.
