General Satellite Starts Charitable Campaign

  General Satellite has begun a charitable campaign entitled “Everything in a beautiful city should be beautiful”, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg. Within the framework of the campaign anyone submitting an antenna that has been worn out can have it replaced at no charge to them by the General Satellite Company.

  The Corporation launched such a campaign for the first time in 2002 and it was decided then to organize such campaigns annually. In 2005 “Everything in a good city should be good” will be conductedin May and will stretch over to the Day of the City on May 31.

  The Vice-President of the Corporation Victor Dmitrachenko characterized the campaign’s goals as follows: “Everything in a beautiful city should be beautiful” is timed to coincide with the anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg and is targeted to make our city more beautiful, clean and attractive. The satellite dish is a remote device, which is constantly exposed to the weather, thus the dishes get rusty with the passing of time. The General Satellite Corporation is aware of this situation and undertakes to bear all the expenses required for the replacement of old dishes with new ones.”
