Receiver VA-7200 Produced by General Satellite takes more than 50 % of Commercial Satellite TV Market in Russia

  Just one year ago the General Satellite Company announced the launch into mass production of VA-7200 receivers with the encoding system VIACCESS. During this period more than 130 thousand new subscribers connected to NTV-Plus, the main player on the market of commercial satellite TV in Russia and every second of them preferred the Russian brand of production.

  Pavel Chumakov, the Director of the Research and Production Department of the General Satellite Corporation commented: “It is a very good indicator, when you take into consideration that VA-7200 is the only domestic production model in the list of eight officially recommended terminals for NTV-Plus signal reception. GS VA-7200 equals the products of all our competitors in quality and consumer performance, moreover, in contrast to some certified receivers it is supplied with the digital audio output (S/PDIF) and operates correctly with the NTV-Plus Electronic Weekly TV Guide for all the broadcast areas.”

  One year’s achievements

  GS VA-7200 is the first Russian receiver certified by the company VIACCESS (France Telecom Unit). Due to a toughening of requirements by VIACCESS for newly produced satellite receivers, there were only two models certified within the last year, one of which is General Satellite’s innovation.

  GS VA-7200 is the only domestic receiver officially recommended for viewing of NTV-Plus channels.

  GS VA-7200 is the winner in the nomination “For the best solution” at the International Exhibition CSTB AWARD 2007.

Performances
  The receiver VA-7200 provides access to free-to-air channels as well as to paid satellite channels by different providers, secured by VIACCESS coding system for the users of VIACCESS smart cards. The receiver supports device control protocols DiSEqC 1.0/1.1/1.2/ USALS, which make serial connection of switches and positioners possible. It is possible to keep up to 5000 tele- and radio channels. Up to 16 aerials may be connected as well as DiSEqC/USALS positioner and switch. It is also supplied with a teletext decoder.
